SH-21(E) - Ultrasonic Hardness Checker

OVERVIEW

The ultrasonic hardness checker (SONOHARD) model SH-21(E) differs completely from traditional hardness testers from a viewpoint that instead of measuring the size of the indentation of the test sample using a microscope, it employs a diamond indenter equipped with a vibrating rod that presses on the test surface at a fixed force and then measures its hardness by applying ultrasonic vibrations

FEATURES

  • Measurement only takes a few seconds
  • Leaves only tiny indentations on test specimens (approx. 0.1mm2)
  • Hardness values can be read directly (HV, HRC, Hs, HB)
  • Conversion to breaking strength (N/mm2)
  • Measuring stands (wooden, iron, resin, etc.) do not influence measurement
  • Measurements do not affect the backs of test samples
  • Can be certified by Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (NK)
  • 4000 points of data memory
  • 10 points of calibration memory

ADVANTAGES

  • Most suitable for measuring quenching hardness of narrow sections, enclosed sections, and internal/external gauge sections
  • Supports four scales, HV, HRC, HS, and HB
  • Capable of storing up to 2000 points for data and 10 points for calibration values
  • Applicable to product inspection also for its undetectable indentation
  • Enabling measuring of probes in any direction of up, down, left, and right

APPLICATIONS

  • Evaluation of carburizing and quenching, and high frequency quenching

  • Weld hardness measurement for welded structures (tank, hull, bridge, steel tower, etc.

  • Hardness measurement for a gear tooth flank (narrow area)

  • Measurement of the hardness of a facility or a structure's strength

  • 100% online inspection for components (engine valve, rack bar, crankshaft, bearing, etc.)

  • Samples of Tested Products:
    - Motor vehicle parts
    - Pressed moldings
    - Steel fame welds
    - Measurement of small parts
    - Gravure printing rolls
    - Papermaking mill rolls
    - Measurement of roll surfaces
    - Measurement of pipes for high-pressure gases and liquids
    - Railway axles
